BiographyHistory

'Lynette Oates linguist who had worked with the Summer Institute of Linguistics in several countries. Oates had published work on a number of unwritten languages, and, together with her late husband, produced a survey of Australian Aboriginal languages, A Revised Linguistic Survey of Australia, as well as a later updated Survey. Oates had worked on two New South Wales languages, and was engaged in secondary teaching.'(Source: Fighters & Singers, 1985:ix)
