AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'This list was compiled in conjunction with the CBCA 11th National Conference in Canberra, May 2014. As this year is the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War – "the war to end all wars" – the committee decided to compile this list to commemorate that anniversary. It includes many important books that were published in Australia and some published overseas that have become classics of the genre. The list is alphabetical by author. Each entry includes the ISBN, an indication of the readership – Older Readers (up to 18), Younger Readers (8-12), Picture books for all ages, Non-Fiction for all ages – and a blurb about the book. There is also an index of titles and illustrators' (2).

Notes

  • Includes one poem, 'Our ANZAC Day', written by 'the children in 3J and 4C' with the assistance of their teachers, 'Mrs Ashley Jones and Mrs Beth Chant, Cherrybrook Public School, New South Wales' (3). (Poem not indexed separately.)
