BiographyHistory

Thomas Spence worked as a foreman in the bookbinding department of Walch and Sons, Hobart. According to a report of his death (carried in Hobart Town's Weekly News and reproduced in the The Empire, 10 November 1868), Spence served as a volunteer in Garibaldi's army in Italy prior to his arrival in the colonies.
