Notes

  • Two plays were written with the title Sixteen String Jack – one by William Leman Rede (first produced in 1841) and the other by Thomas Egerton Wilks (first produced in 1842). AustLit has yet to establish which play was performed on the Australian stage in the late 1860s.
  • Sixteen String Jack is included in AustLit because it was produced in Australian theatres during the colonial era.
