BiographyHistory

Thomas John Dibdin was an English playwright and actor. Some of his plays were produced in the Australian colonies in the nineteenth century. Thomas John Dibdin's father Charles Dibdin (1745 - 1814) was an actor, composer and writer and his brother Charles Isaac Mungo Dibdin (1768 - 1833), also known as Charles Dibdin the younger, was a theatre manager and writer. Thomas John Dibdin's son, Charles Alexander Dibdin (1815 - 1868) lived in Sydney, New South Wales, in the early 1840s and wrote or adapted plays for Sydney theatre.
