Thomas John Dibdin was an English playwright and actor. Some of his plays were produced in the Australian colonies in the nineteenth century. Thomas John Dibdin's father Charles Dibdin (1745 - 1814) was an actor, composer and writer and his brother Charles Isaac Mungo Dibdin (1768 - 1833), also known as Charles Dibdin the younger, was a theatre manager and writer. Thomas John Dibdin's son, Charles Alexander Dibdin (1815 - 1868) lived in Sydney, New South Wales, in the early 1840s and wrote or adapted plays for Sydney theatre.
