BiographyHistory

Hannah Maclurcan was a 19th and earlier 20th Century hotel proprietor, businesswoman and socialite. She wrote her enormously popular Mrs Maclurcan’s Cookery Book during the 1890s, when she was running the up-market Queen's Hotel at Townsville. During the earlier 20th century, she became well known as the proprietor of the Wentworth Hotel in Sydney.
