  • A poem in praise of the common soldier.
  • This poem was written by W.K. Eltham in 1915, during the Gallipoli campaign. It was submitted for publication in The Anzac Book, however was not included. The book's editor Charles Bean subsequently published the work in the soldiers' magazine The Rising Sun in 1916 (details to be established).
