AbstractHistoryArchive Description

An announcement for the funeral of William Bland, to take place at 2.00pm on Thursday, 23 July 1868. The funeral was the first to use the new (and unfinished) 'Receiving-house at the Railway Station'. The government authorities felt that Bland's funeral was 'a fitting opportunity on which to commence devoting the new building to the purpose for which it was erected'.
