BiographyHistory

The Cheap Circulating Library operated at 26 Hunter Street, Sydney. It probably began around September 1867 and comprised 'an assortment of the most popular novels, to which daily additions [were] made as published'.

The original subscription rates (in advance, per month) were: 1 book at the time, 1s 6d; 2 books at the time, 2s 6d. A yearly subscription was 15s and 24s.
