A report on the half-yearly meeting of the Union Literary Club. Items recited, after the conclusion of the business meeting, included 'The Field of Waterloo' from George Gordon Byron's Childe Harold, Thomas Hood's 'The Cat Protection Society', 'The Bridge of Sighs' and 'The Dream of Eugene Aram', and Charles Dickens's 'Sergeant Buzfuz's Address' from Pickwick Papers.
