A series of telemovies by Australian writers and directors, airing on successive Fridays nights in late 1986.

Each telemovie aired under the umbrella title 'Australian Telemovies'. They shared no thematic connections within this loose anthology structure, though they did share crew members (excluding writers and directors): for example, Julian Penney worked as director of photographer on a number of the telemovies.

Originally, newspapers presented the anthology series as six telemovies, but telemovies continued to air under this umbrella title until late November, for a total of nine telemovies.
