This trail celebrates The University of Queensland Press's First Nations Classic series, launched in 2023. Drawing on UQP's long history of celebrating and publishing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander writing, the series launches significant works as new editions with introductions by leading contemporary Indigenous authors.

The black&write! Writing Fellowships were first offered in 2011, and this information trail was initially launched in collaboration with black&write! to celebrate their ten-year anniversary. It is udpated each year with the new recipients.

black&write! Fellowships are run by the State Library of Queensland, with support from Creative Australia, Hachette Australia, and Magabala Books.

The David Unaipon Award was inaugurated in 1988 by University of Queensland Press. Awarded to the best writing of the year by an unpublished Indigenous writer, the award was named in honour of David Unaipon, one of the earliest published Indigenous writers.

This Exhibition gathers stories tied together by language and country. It includes a trail on the United Nations' International year of Indigenous Languages, and offers ways to explore translations of First Australians' narratives, and texts in language.

This trail presents some of the information in BlackWords about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sportspeople. Some of these stories celebrate great sporting achievements, but others also examine the cultural obstacles that Indigenous sportspeople have faced throughout history. Some items can be viewed online and others will be accessible at your local library or bookshop.

This trail should not be considered comprehensive, but as an introduction to works about Indigenous sportsmen and sportswomen.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men and women have served Australia in war from the Boer War (1899-1902) to the present, exhibiting the same loyalty and patriotism as their white and European counterparts, but received limited recognition, especially in the wars before the late 1960s.

This trail explores works relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders participating in the armed services.

This exhibition seeks to highlight the variety of Young Adult fiction found across the Tasman and around the Pacific Ocean. It explores the shared experiences and achievements of Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders, Māori of Aotearoa (New Zealand) & Rarotonga, and Pasifika of the Polynesian, Melanesian, and Micronesian nationalities.
