BiographyHistory

David Spearim a self taught artist was born in Moree, New South Wales. Since, 1981 he has lived in Kempsey in the mid north coast of NSW. In 1989 David was one of the first 'Urban' Aboriginal artists to be recognised by a mainstream insitution, The Art Gallery of New South Wales in their "Australian Perspecta - A Koori Perspective". David's work had been selected for other Aboriginal exhibitions throughout Australia. His work is in collections at the Australian National Museum, Powerhouse Museum, Armidale Aboriginal Arts and Cultural Heritage Centre, and Boomali Aboriginal Artists Co-operative.
