BiographyHistory

'Antikirrinya elder Ingkama Bobby Brown Wirrkima was born on Ingomar Station south of Copber Pedy, South Australia about 1940, the son of an Arrernte stock worker and Antikirrinya mother. Bobby was taught traditional culture and language by members of his family as he grew up. Apart from station work, Bobby has taught across several schools in South Australia, worked with the late ethnomusicologist Cath Ellis at the University of Adelaide, and has interpreted for the Magistrate's Court of South Australia. Ingkama Bobby is a traditional custodian of Ingkama and is the Director of the Nguraritja Aboriginal Corporation.' (Backcover)
