Description

Learning from Yolu speakers and writers about issues in Yolu philosophy, history and science. The Yolu lecturer along with guest speakers, will work through texts by Yolu writers in Yolu languages and English. Students will have some say over the direction of their research. This unit is available online by special arrangement. It can also be studied in the context of the annual Garma Festival, held at Gulkula in East Arnhemland.

This unit is for students who have completed CAS110 and who would like to study Yolngu knowledges more deeply. Most texts studied will be in Yolngu languages and students will be required to transcribe and translate and comment upon the text. Other sources will be texts by Yolngu writers in English and Yolngu guest lectures.
