AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Comment on and publication of a Parliamentary Return list of the number of stamps issued in March 1837 to London newspapers, the number of advertisements published in each and the amount of duties paid. The author writes that 'the whole [Parliamentary Return] is not sufficiently entertaining to the colonial reader to induce us to copy it entire'.
