Review reprinted from the English magazine John Bull of a novel by the international writer Catherine Manners (Lady Stepney). The novel, The Courtier's Daughter, was published in London by Henry Colburn in 1838. The review states: 'skilfully mingles enough romance with the realities of modern life to astonish as well as interest the reader.'
