BiographyHistory

Benjamin Moule began his newspaper career with the Burrawang Herald in 1884. When that paper closed, in 1893, Moule joined the staff of Mittagong's Southern Mail. The Southern Mail moved to Bowral the next year and Moule followed, later becoming a joint owner of the newspaper. In 1923, Moule and (by then) co-owner Joseph White sold the newspaper. However, by that time they had added other papers to their group: the Robertson Advocate, the Moss Vale Record and the Mittagong Express.Together the four papers were known as 'The Four Mails'.

Moule was the local correspondent for the Sydney Morning Herald and 'retained his connection with the press to the end'.
