Lecoqu wrote largely for the theatre, with his works including operas, opéra comiques, and operettas. His sbest known works are Le Docteur Miracle (1857), Fleur-de-thé (1868), Les Cent Vierges (1872) and his greatest success La fille de Madame Angot (1872),
