AbstractHistoryArchive Description

In December 1879 the weekly newspaper titled the Tasmanian (Harris and Just: 1871) ceased publication. The publishers sold their business in [September] 1880 to the publishers of the Examiner (Launceston, Tasmania.). The Weekly Examiner, which had commenced on 6 January 1872, was incorporated from 1 January 1881 into the Tasmanian (Aikenhead and Button: 1881). Aikenhead and Button, who were the publishers of the Examiner, continued the Tasmanian until 1895.
