Description

Examines the social meanings & historical formation of selected forms of popular culture in Australia from the early twentieth century to the present. Areas considered include television, popular music, magazines, sport, cinema, the beach, and tourism. Students are also required to attend film screenings.

Tutorial presentation 5%; Tutorial Attendance and Participation 10%; Critical reading 800 words 10%; Media analysis 25%; Major Research Essay 2500 words 50%
