Description

This topic is designed around a weekly lecture and tutorial in which students will read and

respond to a variety of creative writing. The emphasis in this topic is on reading and responding

to published creative writing and for thinking about the critical concepts related to creative

writing theory and to the discipline of creative writing.

On completion of this topic students will have developed:

• the ability to respond critically to published creative writing and to identify

techniques of the craft

• a broad understanding of issues of significance to creative writing as a discipline

• the ability to apply critical debates about writing to their own work and to think

analytically and critically about their writing and about the discipline of creative writing
