AbstractHistoryArchive Description

This report, probably taken from a Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) newspaper, notes that 'Mr Smith's Printing Establishment, including the copyright of the Colonial Times, Tasmanian, and Trumpeter, was sold by auction, by Mr T. Y. Lowes ... John Macdougall was the purchaser. With the solitary exception of Mr. R. L. Murray, every master printer and editor in Hobart Town were present.'
