AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'The article offers the author's insights on the observed fear of refugees among Australians. The author relates his efforts, along his colleague Kon Karapanagiotidis of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC), to support ayslum seekers in the country. He argues that the country has no such one nation concept, but rather competing ideas of nationhood, such as an educated nation, cosmopolitan, and parochial.' (Editor's abstract)
