BiographyHistory

Thomas Boase, born at sea while his family was en route to Australia, is the younger brother of Edwin Boase. While some sources suggest that Edwin Boase was the founder of the Mount Wycheproof Ensign, an advertisement in the Melbourne Argus (14 September 1881: 3) names Thomas Boase as the proprietor. When the newspaper was offered for sale in 1885, an Argus advertisement again names the proprietor as Thomas Boase (7 March 1885: 12).
