The works shortlisted are Three Crooked Kings, by Matthew Condon; Rendevous with Destiny, by Miachael Fullilove; On Warne, by Gideon Haigh; The Price of Valour, by John Hamilton; Burial Rites, by Hannah Kent; and Madeleine, by Helen Trinca. The people's choice award is to be announced on 20 November.
