Description

This course is based on students own creative writing in sustained fictional forms and on the reading and critiquing of novellas by established writers. It examines the processes by which creative practitioners in the field of writing produce and publish texts in sustained forms in today's publishing contexts. It also examines theory and techniques applicable to these forms while exploring strategies for the enhancement and application of individual creative writing skills. You will be expected to produce written work and participate in workshop discussions throughout the semester. You will also be expected to acquire a good general and critical knowledge of aspects of the sustained prose (or other) writer's craft.
