AbstractHistoryArchive Description

According to a contemporary Australian review,

'This is the title of a progressive Film Service production at the Lyric Theatre, to-night, featuring Miss Helen Holmes in a story of international diamond smuggling as carried out by a gang who move in the "best society." A characteristic portion of the filmic production appealing more particularly to lady patrons will be the elaborate frocks worn by the principal, which are regarded as triumphs of the costumier's art.'

Notes

  • Said to have been based on J.P. McGowan's experience as a diamond prospector in South Africa after his service in the Second Boer War (1899-1902).
