BiographyHistory

Announcing the death of Francis Burdett Franklyn in January 1869, the Ballarat Star wrote that he 'came to Melbourne sixteen years ago, and began business as a printer's broker in connection with the English firm of Robson, Levey, and Franklyn, and was for some years one of the proprietors of the Herald newspaper. Six years ago he paid a visit to England, and since his return to this colony he has carried on the business of a printer's broker.'
