BiographyHistory

English novelist, Samuel Warren studied medicine and law and was a member of the British House of Commons. His novel Passages from the Diary of a Late Physician, first appeared as a serialisation from August 1830 to August 1837 in Blackwood's Edinburgh Magazine.

The Sydney Gazette and New South Wales Advertiser began serialising chapter one of Passages on 13 January 1831. Subsequent chapters from the work, taken from issues of Blackwood's, were serialised intermittently in the Gazette from 13 January 1831 with the last chapter concluded on 22 February 1838.

AustLit has not yet established whether the whole work was serialised in the Gazette.
