BiographyHistory

In July 1851, George Eason took over the lease of the Black Range run near Yass, New South Wales (noted in The Sydney Morning Herald, (15 July 1851): 3). He relinquished the lease in July 1859 (see The Goulburn Herald and County of Argyle Advertiser (9 July 1859): 3).

According to Eason's obituary (Australian Town and Country Journal (12 June 1880):14), he later purchased Gegullalong Station, near Burrowa [later Boorowa], but his 'squatting occupations resulted unfavourably, and having before coming to this colony been connected with the printing business, he purchased the plant and copyright of the Burrowa News, which he published for a considerable time'.
