Miss Douglass was an actress in Sydney, New South Wales, in the 1830s. Her 'proper' surname, according to her short obituary in the Sydney Gazette 13 January 1838, was Hatch.
An advertisement for the sale of her effects, including theatrical dresses, to be sold at auction by Mr. Blackman is published in the Sydney Herald (18 January 1838): 3. According to the advertisement her home in Sydney at the time of her death was 'Hill's-buildings, corner of Bathurst and Elizabeth-streets'.
In a review of a Royal Victoria Theatre, Sydney, performance of Hamlet on 27 October 1838, the reviewer (William Kerr?) remembers that 'Miss Douglass was the only Queen the Sydney stage could ever boast of.'
