BiographyHistory

'Dr Karen Knight-Mudie has a background of English Literature, the Arts, History and Semiotics. Studies at master's level in English Literature (UQ) and Education (UC), led Karen to further her curiosity in Philosophy culminating in a PhD (JCU). She has written extensively in the discipline areas of Visual Arts Education, curriculum development, motivation, semiotics and personal experience. Early years of living and working in Vanuatu and London sparked Karen's interest in language and the arts as fundamental means of expression. Her research continues into current writing that stresses the importance of passing on knowledge through stories, and investigates how technological advancement affects human behaviour and the environment. Karen has painted in Kakadu, Flinders Ranges, Carnarvon Gorge, Mt Moffatt, Port Arthur, and other locations in Australia. Many of her works are housed in State and private collections.'
