AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Paper Radio was a Washington (USA)-based 'journal of experimental arts' that comprised a mix of poetry, fiction, and graphic art. It ran for approximately 10 years beginning in 1986. Edited by Neil S. Kvern and Dagmar Howard, the journal was initially published out of Seattle by Loose Milk Press, and later by Paper Radio Press in Bremerton.

Notes

  • A number of online bibliographies (including the OCLC) record that Paper Radio - was published in Bremerton, Western Australia (rather than Washington, USA). This has come about through confusion over the abbreviation WA (used for both Western Australia and Washington). It should be noted that there is no town in Australia called Bremerton.
  • Dagmar Howard is a film critic and children's writer who was based in Wisconsin (USA) during the period she was associated with Paper Radio. Her poems, fiction and literary criticism have appeared in Snapdragon and Touchstone among others [Source: Coe Review Spring 1987, p.108]
  • Born in 1950, Neil Selmer Kvern is a writer, poet, editor and publisher based out of Washington State (USA). His works have been appearing in print since at least 1976.
