'While on the trail of a young Swiss girl, Constable Lisa Hesse stumbles onto another M.P. who unwittingly helps the MPSIB team solve the riddle of the old Twenty Dollar Murder Case.' (Australian Women's Weekly, Wed. 17 November 1982, p.169).
2. Death of a Ghost (aired 26 November 1982)
'Sgt. Noel Braden launches the MPSIB team on one of its most challenging investigations: to find a man who went missing 17 years ago. According to official records Gordon Trevor, a Vietnam veteran, died in a car crash in 1965. But Braden isn't convinced. There's more to the mysterious Mr Trevor than meets the eye.' 3. Chutzpah (aired 3 December 1982)
'Young Jewish journalist Rebekkah Heyman returns from a trip to Israel, expecting to stay with her old friend Les Barry. She discovers that in her absence he has been evicted from his flat and at the age of 59 has been retrenched from the public service job he had held for 40 years. His disinterested family haven't seen him for seven months and hadn't noticed he was missing. With his superannuation he's suddenly wealthy. But where is he and what has he done with it?' 4. Who is Billy Casanova? (aired 10 December 1982)
'The MPSIB team find themselves on the trail of a master of disguise, a man determined not to be found. When William David Levine first went missing, it was thought he had been murdered. But a number of sightings over the past three years have negated this. The last was by a friend who saw him performing as a stand-up comedian at a local night club.' 5. Castles in Spain (aired 17 December 1982)
'Peter Birch and Carmen Gonzales are young and in love. They are also staunch supporters of the Basque Separatist Cause so when both are reported missing the pieces seem to fit neatly together.
