BiographyHistory

Aunty Rose Elu was born on the island of Saibai in the Torres Strait, but moved with her family to an island now known as Seisia, near Cape York. She was named 2021 Queensland Senior Australian of the Year for her advocacy for Torres Strait Islander communities, especially around climate change.
