BiographyHistory

David Shield is a Japanese-English conference interpreter, award winning translator, professional koto musician, and kimono maker. He has sat on the management comittee of the Queensland Writers Centre and been president of the Australia Japan Society Queensland. 

He won the 2024 E.J. Corbett Mentorship, for a young-adult novel set in 1630s' Japan.
