AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'A ghost-town at midnight … a hearse driven by a dead man … and a coffin full of gold coins … For Benedict and Brazos, it was the start of another bullet-fast adventure.

'A long time had passed since Duke Benedict and Hank Brazos conceded they'd never find $200,000 of stolen wealth. They became an unbeatable team, and formed a solid friendship bond. Then a midnight black hearse pulled by ebony horses thundered past them one night, and a black coffin filled with gold coins landed at their feet.

'Had Benedict and Brazos inadvertently found the Confederate gold stolen by outlaw Bo Rangle? 100 men died at Pea Ridge when Rangle stole $200,000 in Confederate gold. Only Benedict and Brazos survived, and they vowed to even the score with Rangle. Afterward, they'd settle up with the gold. Benedict felt they were entitled to keep the loot. Brazos wanted to return it to its rightful owner.

'While they argued amongst themselves, others planned to get their hands on the gold. Doc Sullivan, a ruthless killer, refused to lose out on a quarter-million dollars. Neither did U. S. Marshal Cleve Elliott, who was determined to send it back to the rightful owner. Milt Hinkle was the one threat Benedict and Brazos didn’t allow for … because Hinkle was Brazos’s wayward cousin!'
