BiographyHistory

'Karla Courtney is a Canadian/Australian author and knitter who is inspired by nature, the sea – and especially lobsters. Her love of wool and crustaceans started on family visits to Newfoundland, where her Grandmother once reared sheep and Grandfather caught lobsters. As an homage, she not only has a giant lobster tattoo on her back, but has also created a beloved pattern for lobsters wearing sweaters that has sold thousands of copies and attracted more than 10 million video views on Instagram, uniting lobster fans across the world! Her knitted lobsters have even made their way onboard the ship of viral lobster fishing sensation Jacob Knowles and are featured in galleries, shops and even hotels across eastern Canada and the United States.'
