Born in Australia, Deborah Frances-White was adopted at an early age, and raised in Brisbane in a family who converted to Jehovah's Witnesses when she was a teenager. She moved to London after high school, and later studied English at Harris Manchester College, Oxford. With Tom Salinsky, she dounded improv theatre company The Spontaneity Shop in 1996.
Her debut play, Never Have I Ever, was produced by Black Swan Theatre Company in 2025.
