BiographyHistory

'Benjin Maza is Yidindji, Birri Gubba, Miriam Mer, Tanna Island, Brisbane based singer/songwriter, dancer and actor. A graduate of the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts (ACPA).

'He has worked for many Australian theatre companies including Queensland Theatre (Othello, Stradbroke Dreaming); La Boite (From Darkness); Shock Therapy Arts (Crossing the Divide); Grin and Tonic (Lucky and the Flight of the Sky Puppies, Accidental Death of an Anarchist).

'For his work Benjin has been nominated for two Matilda Awards, Best Actor In Supporting Role – Weredingo (Karul Projects) and Best Actor In Supporting Role – Othello (Queensland Theatre).

'Benjin is also a part of an Indigenous Fusion dance group called eXcelsior, performing at various events such as: the NRL’s All Stars, Sydney Opera House’s Homeground, Woodford Folk Festival and Boomerang Festival at Byron Bay Blues Fest and the Commonwealth Games in 2018.'
