'Jack Meets Oscar is the first story in a series of stories of Jack’s adventures as he grows up. In this story, Oscar, along with his two friends, Dexter and Robbie, are sitting on a bench in a petrol station shop. All day they see people come and go, until first Dexter, then Robbie goes too, leaving Oscar all by himself. Oscar is feeling sad and lonely, and then Jack comes along.' (Publication summary)
