'Nicole McLennan has a longstanding interest in migration and family history.
Many years ago, she undertook a doctorate in history at ANU that examined English
migration to Australia in the second half of the nineteenth century. Since then, she
has worked as a museum curator, an archivist and a research editor at the Australian
Dictionary of Biography. Currently she is a member of the secretariat supporting the
