Publisher John Ferguson is the son of George Adie Ferguson, grandson of Sir John Ferguson and great-grandson of George Robertson.
Ferguson worked at Angus and Robertson in the 1960s, expanding the company’s reach into Asian markets. In the 1973, following the takeover of Angus & Robertson, Ferguson founded his own firm, John Ferguson, focusing particularly on Australian subject matter. The company closed in 1991. Later, with publisher Matthew Richardson, Ferguson revived Halstead Press.
