BiographyHistory

Melbourne-based rock band. While still an un-named group, they undertook an early gig at a Port Melbourne rock venue frequented by members of the Federated Ship Painters and Dockers Union, and took their name from them. According to Ian McFarlane in his Encyclopedia of Australian Rock and Pop, this was their first gig, and was a benefit gig designed to cover a friend's parking fines.

Their first recording was not released until 1984.

After their cessation in 1998, they briefly re-formed (for a single show) in 2009, and undertook a 30th anniversary tour in 2017.
