  • Author's note: Sarah Good was one of the first three women to be accused of witchcraft in the Salem witch trials, which occurred in 1692 in colonial Massachusetts. She was hanged at Proctor’s Lodge maintaining her innocence, and allegedly saying to the priest who told her to confess, “I am no more a witch than you are a wizard.”
