'Joe Flood PhD is the eldest son of the author Dorothy Hewett and now lives in the Blue Mountains. He worked for CSIRO, for the United Nations and for Community Housing Limited as a mathematician and a housing and urban policy analyst and is a singer-songwriter and a genetic genealogist. He began writing poetry and creative life-writing in earnest from 2010, after the death of his youngest son from leukemia' (Hecate 47 1/2)
