BiographyHistory

'Helen Adam is a senior lecturer, course coordinator, and researcher at Edith Cowan University in Western Australia. Her research focuses on promoting socially just and equitable education through culturally responsive pedagogy, including through the use of authentically diverse and inclusive literature to break down barriers of prejudice and misunderstanding in society. She employs a critical theoretical approach to examine ways in which literature and education mediate messages children receive about their cultures and roles in society. Her work is published in internationally renowned research journals including Australian Educational Researcher and The Journal of Early Childhood Literacy.'
