Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1980.
The band primarily consisted of vocalist Chrissy Amphlett and guitarist Mark McEntee, and Amphlett's stage presence was a key element in the band's success and vibe.
Originally a five-piece, the band underwent numerous line-up changes, with Amphlett and McEntee remaining as core members, before its dissolution in 1996. McEntee in an interview states that the band got their start playing every week in a pub in the King's Cross area of Sydney, before eventually expanding out and exploding in popularity.
It briefly reformed between 2006 and 2009, after they were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame: they released a compilation album and four new singles, as well as undertaking a national tour, but the band permanently disbanded by 2009.
