BiographyHistory

The Scientists was a post-punk band from Perth, Western Australia, led by Kim Salmon, initially known as the Exterminators and then the Invaders. The band got their major start playing shows at the Governor Broome Hotel in Northbridge, which later took off in popularity for the band.

The band had two distinct incarnations: Perth-based punk band (1978-1981) and Sydney/London-based swamp-rock band (1982-1987).

The Scientists disbanded in 1987, but reformed in 2006 (with a largely different line-up) for occasional concerts and, in 2021, a studio album.
